On the shores of Lake Genin in the Jura Mountains, it feels like Canada, from where it gets its nickname.
With its woods and spruces, the place seems to have the power of attraction.
In this exceptional setting is a family-run inn that is worth a detour.
At the foot of the Jura, Lake Genin seems to have a pulling power. With its forests and spruces, it is nicknamed Little Canada. At an altitude of 850 meters, it changes according to the seasons.
The fog gives it a mysterious character in autumn. When the sun rises behind the forest, its waters seem to sleep. But the noise inevitably attracts attention: Denis Godet, the manager of the inn, takes an ice bath in these waters every morning, regardless of the weather and temperature, including winter.
A few days later, dressed and above all well warmed, he prepares this homemade specialty: grilled meat on a wood fire. The master roaster cooks among the customers as a show and fills the room with an enticing aroma. More than just food, it gives them a taste of family memories.
