You should no longer make this mistake when you buy foundation.
You wander the aisles of your favorite perfume shop in search of the foundation of your dreams. After choosing two or three references adapted to your wishes (for radiant, matte or even satin skin), it’s time to try the perfume to find the right shade. Very often we take a small amount of foundation and apply it on our hand to check if the shade matches our skin tone well… A mistake that can cost you dearly!
Find your shade
In fact, the color of the skin on the hand is rarely the same as the color of the face. However, it is on this that we will apply the proverbial foundation. Even worse, some people will test it on the inside of their wrists! Enough to make even the most seasoned makeup artist swoon. It should be said that the color of the wrist is generally much lighter than the color of the face. Some people will even have skin with different undertones on their body and face: their hand may therefore be pink while their face will be gold. In short, testing foundation on your hands is never a good idea. So how can you easily find your shade?
It’s best to test a bit of the product on your jaw to see if the color contrasts with your skin right away. Finally, last but not least tip, store lighting can be deceiving! With a mirror, you get closer to the source of natural light – facing the window or, even better, the street. There is nothing better to see if the makeup color really blends with our skin and if it is imperceptible.
