We leave for the Alps aboard a historic train that winds its way through the heart of the peaceful mountains.
The bucolic walk ends with a Wild West scene.
In the heart of the Franches-Montagnes, the entire Kaempfer family and their friends boarded to celebrate Eric’s 70th birthday on a Belle Époque train from 1913. Travel speed is 30 km/h, the decor is old-fashioned. Erica, a train enthusiast since childhood, receives a surprising gift from his family: the vehicle was privatized for his birthday.
A journey beyond time
Grandpa is about to be surprised by another unexpected event. The cowboys start chasing the train. The Franches-Montagnes have a Wild West vibe. Everyone joins in and the scene turns into a western. And like in the movies, the bandits seize Erica, his daughter-in-law, and demand a ransom from the family. After a few tens of minutes and an inspection of the booty, the cowboys return. All’s well that ends well.
Eric, his children, grandchildren and friends will never forget this birthday. It was a journey outside of time, during which the grandfather became a child again in one day.
